Premium VIP Insurance
Included in the daily rate are:
- Public liability insurance covering accidents in the event that the renter is at fault. The policy protects the
renter up to the statutory limits (= state mandated minimum coverage).
- A US$1000.00 deductible per incident applies for all accidental damages: "accidental damage" includes but
is not limited to: (i) motor vehicle accident; (ii) vehicle theft; (iii) vandalism; (iv) fire; (v) windshield & glass
damage
- If renter's motor home vacation is interrupted by an automotive mechanical breakdown for more than 12
working hours after reporting such to ROAD BEAR RV, the renter will be reimbursed for the greater of: i) the
gross nightly rate or: ii) expenses for hotel rooms up to US$25.00 per person per night and car rental up to
US$50.00 per day per motor home to a maximum of US$1500.00 per tour. Receipts for all incurred
expenses must be presented for refund. Radio, TV/VCR/DVD, generator, air condition, fridge, cruise
control, awning, slide-out & automatic entry step malfunction, etc. are not considered to be mechanical
breakdowns.
The following losses are not covered if damage is caused by:
- Deliberate or willful damage caused by renter or guests
- Interior damages
- Failure to maintain all fluid levels
- Failure to use specified fuel
- Damage caused by freezing of the vehicles systems (when temperatures are below freezing, it is not
permitted to fill the water tanks)
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Traveling off-road or in restricted areas
- Carrying more passengers than having seat belts available
- Operation by anyone not listed on the rental contract
- Operation by anyone not meeting the age requirement shown on the rate sheet
- Personal contents are never covered
Additional liability coverage can be purchased as described below:
SLI: SLI provides the customer with an increased limit of liability protection up to one million dollars
Please take note:
In case of a claim, Road Bear RV will not act as an adjuster for any third party insurances purchased by
the renter (such as $0.00 deductible insurance, etc.).

One Way Rentals:
Upon availability one-way trips are possible between all stations for a one-way fee shown on the rate sheet.
Security Deposit:
(authorized/blocked on credit card while traveling):
US$ 1000.00
Additional deposits may be required for special events such as “Burning Man”, etc.
Credit cards:
VISA, Master/Euro, American Expresss are accepted for payments at the depot.
Transfers:
Clients cannot pick up the vehicle the day they arrive from overseas or trans-continental and
we recommend spending the first night at an airport hotel or motel. Clients must call the rental station upon
arrival or on the day of pick up between 08.00 am and 10.00 am at the latest to schedule the transfer time and
place. Transfers are provided to (but not from) the international airports LAX/SFO/OAK/LAS/DEN/EWR (not to
JFK or La Guardia) and/or from/to airport hotels at all rental locations.
In San Francisco/Denver clients will be
picked up in downtown and in Los Angeles from Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica for an extra charge.
Transfers will be provided from Monday to Saturday between 11.00 am and 1.00 pm the latest. There will
be no transfers after 1:00 pm. The complimentary permitted amount of luggage is in accordance with
the airline regulations (2 suitcases @ 50 pds/23 kg plus 2 pieces of hand luggage per person).
Excessive luggage is the customer’s responsibility.
Vehicle Pick up and Return:
Vehicle pick up time is between 12.00 noon and 4.00 pm. Vehicle return time is
between 8.00 am and 10.30 am. A charge of US$ 30.00/hour applies for a late vehicle return. Clients will not
be entitled to get a complimentary transfer back to the airport or airport hotels after 11 am.
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Saturday from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm
(or during season as required). All stations are closed on Sundays and on all statutory holidays.
