Customer Pick Up - Transfers - Orientation
Vancouver:
Pick-up and drop-off at Downtown Hotels, Airport Hotels, at Main St. Terminal (Airporter Bus Stop) and in Burnaby at the Accent Inn. Drop off at airport as well. Due to a lot of construction downtown, we will work closely together with a Taxi Company in order to serve you on time.

Calgary:
Pick-up and drop-off at Airport Hotels and Downtown Hotels. Drop off at airport as well. Due to a lot of construction downtown, we will work closely together with a Taxi Company in order to serve you on time.

Toronto:
Pick-up at Airport Hotels. Drop-off at Airport or Airport Hotels. Downtown Hotel pick up and drop off on Mondays only.

Express Pick Up:
To serve our customers faster and better we ask that the following customer information be sent to us at least one week prior to pick-up.
A. Name, address, phone number and credit card number with expiry date of principal driver, email address.
B. Name and driver’s licence number of additional driver(s).
C. Name and address of transfer hotel.
Pick up and Transfer Times are between 10am to 3pm
The client must phone early in the morning or the day before, if they wish to be picked up. The client must pick-up and return the vehicle at Go West unless otherwise specified. Upon delivery of the vehicle, the client must hold a voucher containing the particulars of the rental: party’s name, reference number, type of vehicle, items prepaid and items to be paid locally.

Orientation:
1. We thoroughly explain the vehicle and appliances to our customers in person with detailed instructions so they will be sure to enjoy their camping trip.
2. We explain the rental contract at which time we will collect for items not prepaid, insurance premium and cleaning security deposit.
3. We give advice on where and how to drive in Canada. An explanation of how to operate the vehicle will be given in English, German, Dutch, Italian or French according to the client’s preference.
4. The clients will receive free tour packages, maps and campsite information along with a personal explanation of things to do and see! Free storage of luggage is also provided.
5. A reminder sheet will be given informing the client again what to do in case of breakdown or accident, rules and regulations of the road and how to maintain the vehicle to operate the RV safely.
We familiarize our customers personally with our vehicles and if requested, we will take them for a short test drive. We spend 60 minutes on this “hands on” explanation. (NO video!)

Dishes & cutlery: we always pack 2 extras of each item. Charges will apply for lost or broken equipment. Extras like wine
glasses and teapots upon request.

Roadside Assistance

Customers renting Go West vehicles, have 24-hour Ford and Chevrolet roadside assistance in Canada and the USA. A car rental is provided if vehicle is not repaired the following day.
This service does not cover the expenses for non-mechanical difficulties such as running out of gas, cooling fluids or oil, tire and radio problems, air conditioning, losing keys, etc. …
We also give our customers an emergency phone number where we can be reached daily from 8am to 7pm.
VIP Insurance (see pg 26-27) also covers incurred expenses of up to the daily rate with 0 km paid by the renter in the event of a mechanical breakdown requiring vehicle to be in repairs for more than 12 hours. Radio, air conditioning, fridge and cruise control are not considered mechanical breakdowns. A limit of $500/trip applies. Customer must present all receipts for refund of expenses. In the event of a vehicle replacement due to an accident, customer must return to the station at own cost to pick up replacement unit.

Availability
If, for any reason, beyond our control the reserved vehicle is not available, Go West reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent value, to refund all payments without further liabilities, or offer a higher rated vehicle at no extra cost to the renter. Any subsequent expenses (additional ferry costs, gasoline, etc.) are the renter’s responsibility.
Should a lower rated vehicle be offered, Go West’s only obligation is to refund the cost difference between the two vehicles. In the event that the renter refuses to accept the vehicle offered, the renter acknowledges that all payments will be forfeited and he/she will have no further loss or damage against Go West.

Important: Always add 2ft to any vehicle for “ferry bookings”.

Vehicle pick up and return hours:
The vehicles are generally handed over between 10:00am and 3:00pm and must be returned between 8:00am and 10:00am. No pick ups or drop offs after 3:00pm. Late returns will be charged an extra $50/hour and our transfer to the hotel will be void.
No refunds for early return!

Renters Responsibility:
Every renter must have a valid credit card to be able to rent an RV from Go West. The renter is responsible for the vehicle and will be charged for any misuse or undue care, mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. This includes checking engine oil, fluids and coolant levels at each refuelling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Necessary repairs over $75 require/need prior authorization from our office. Insurance coverage is void by not reporting any damage to Go West and Insurance Company within 24 hrs.

Changes and Cancellation Fees:
No fee if cancelled within 3 days of request.
First change no charge, $50 for each additional change.
Up to 30 days before pick up: $250 + GST
30-16 days before pick up: 70% of rental charges + GST
15-1 days before pick up: 85% of rental charges + GST
No show : 100% of rental charges + GST

One way fee is payable in full on one-way cancellation.
Different fees apply for Group Bookings
No refunds for early returns.
Go West will not refund any reservation cancelled, missed or otherwise as a result of war or an act of terrorism.

Minimum Rentals:
- 1 week minimum for rentals
- 2 weeks minimum on Vancouver-Calgary (or vice versa) one-way bookings or Class A rentals
- 3 weeks minimum on Northern Rentals

Driver Requirements:
- Driver’s must be between 21 -75 years of age
For renters under 25 years, CDR Insurance is mandetory

Security Deposit:
Standard Insurance: $5000 processed credit card charge.
CDR Insurance: $1500 processed credit card charge.
VIP Insurance: Signed Blank credit card imprint.
A blank signed credit card imprint will be taken for all rentals regardless of insurance purchased.

Northern Rentals:
A surcharge of $200 applies to rentals traveling north of Fort St. John on the Alaska Hwy, Cassiar Hwy, into Yukon and Alaska. Northern use must be specified and confirmed at time of reservation. We allow northern rentals with non-slide C22’-C25’ and C26’ slide out

Cleaning Deposit:
$150 ($250 for the A Class) is processed at time of rental and refunded upon return of clean unit.

No pets/animals allowed!
No smoking allowed in any of the vehicles!
Cleaning Charges: $500 smoking/pets
$50/hour inside/outside cleaning
$25 dumping per tank
$75 fuel refill service fee + fuel cost

2009 Insurance Information

Go West maintains liability coverage on all its rental vehicles to a maximum of $5,000,000 for any bodily injury and property damage liability claims arising from the operation or use of its rental vehicles. Premiums for this basic public liability coverage are included in all rental rates, which also include premiums for collision insurance and comprehensive insurance with a deductible of $5,000 per occurrence. All coverage and waivers are subject to the express terms of the rental contract and of the applicable motor vehicle insurance contract. The insurance deductible may be reduced with the purchase of CDR or VIP insurance as shown in the insurance table.
For drivers under 25 years of age, the CDR insurance is mandatory.


Customer’s Responsibility:
In the event of loss or damage to vehicle while on rental, whether or not due to the fault of the rental customer, the customer’s responsibility
for direct and accidental loss or damage to the vehicle is limited to a maximum of $7500 per occurrence. There is no limit however if vehicle incurs loss or damage not covered by the insurance as outlined below.

Deposits:
At time of rental we charge the renter’s credit card with an Insurance Deposit of $5000, if CDR Insurance is purchased $1500 or if VIP is purchased we require a blank credit card imprint. Security Deposits are refundable upon vehicle’s check-in if it has been returned: On time, un-damaged, clean, equipment complete, holding tanks empty and gas tank full. Deposits given by charge – credit cards, will be refunded by same.

Travel not Allowed:
Motorhomes are not permitted on Dempster Hwy, Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Mexico or Death Valley. Alaska and Yukon, Cassiar Hwy, Alaska Hwy only with Northern Surcharge (conditions apply). RVs are not permitted on roads designated on the official provincial or state maps as “other roads – gravel or dirt”. Go West is not responsible for hotel charges, car rental or any other incidental or consequential costs in the event of a breakdown. Within 24hrs. a report to Go West/Insurance Company and/or Police must be filed in case of an accident, any damage to vehicle, vandalism, fire or theft, otherwise insurance is null and void.

The following are not covered if damages are caused by:
• Failure to maintain all fluid levels;
• Failure to use specified fuel or use of contaminated fuel; or fuel in water system;
• Operation by anyone under 21 years of age or not licensed;
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
• Deliberate or wilful damage by renter or guests;
• Travel in restricted areas (see pg. 26);
• Towing of any kind;
• Freezing of the vehicle’s systems;
• More passengers than the available seat belts;
• Damage occurring in an accident that the renter has failed to report to Go West, Insurance Company or police
• Nature damage (hail, storm, tornados)
• Motorhome theft in Montreal – when parked.
