Rental Information and Conditions
• Vehicle check - out and vehicle return
Our staff will explain the operation of the vehicle including all R.V. appliances. There is also a manual in each vehicle.
Vehicle pick up between 1pm and 3pm. Pick-up of your R.V. in the morning is possible if your vehicle is available. We guarantee pick-up at 7am with our "Early Bird Special".
Vehicle return between 9 am and 12 noon. Our shuttle leaves at 12 o'clock noon to L.A. intern. airport
• Liability insurance
Our liability insurance covers you in the event of an accident for claims made against you. Liability insurance is included in the rental price. Happy Travel's policy protects the renter to statutory limits and the company up to US$ 1,000,000.
• CDW (collision damage waiver) covers you for collision damages to your rental R.V. with a deductible of $2500. This insurance is also included and protects the renter against theft, vandalism and accidental damages.
• VIP (vacation interruption protection) We offer and recommend "VIP".
For $15 per day, with a maximum charge of 36 days ($540), "VIP" reduces your liability for damages to your rental vehicle to $150.
VIP protects you against
- accidental damages, regardless of fault
- windshield and other glass damage
- protection against theft and vandalism
- protection against uninsured motorists
Exceptions: damages caused by striking overhead objects, backing up vehicle, tire, under car, and interior damage are not covered by "VIP". However, the "VIP" option limits the customer's liability for these non-covered damages to a maximum of $2500.
• Security deposit
$2500 - credit card imprint.
Deposit will be refunded upon return of camper in clean condition.
• Driver requirements
The drivers must be at least 21 years of age and in possession of a valid national driver's license. An international driver's license is recommended, but not necessary.
• Minimum rental periods
4 days in season 1,2 and 3
7 days in season 4
• Restrictions
Pets: Pets are not allowed.
Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in our vehicles.
Trips to "Death Valley" in California are not allowed between May 1st and September 30th.
Trips to Baja California (Mexico) are permitted with mandatory purchase of VIP plan and $500 deductible.
Renter must also purchase liability and comprehensive insurance at the border.
• One-way rental
Los Angeles - San Francisco or reverse = $200
Los Angeles - Las Vegas or reverse = $200 Las Vegas - Las Vegas = $400
Los Angeles -San Diego or reverse = $200 San Diego - San Diego = $300
San Francisco - San Diego or reverse = $300
Los Angeles - Phoenix or reverse = $200 only available in season 1 and 2

• Office hours
Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturday 9am - 12 noon.
• Payment
Payment in full is required 30 days prior to pick up of vehicle.
Happy Travel reserves the right to cancel a reservation if payments are not received when due.
We accept cash and travelers checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express cards and Discover card.
• Cancellation policy
We require a $200 non-refundable credit card deposit to secure your reservation
- 30 to 8 days of rental : 50% of rental price will be charged
- 7 to 4 days of rental : 75% of rental price will be charged to your credit card
- 3 or less and no shows : full rental price plus possible one way fees will be kept.
