modern amenities. The 150mph Acela® trains
operate between Boston, New
York, Philadelphia and Washington
DC.

on board
experience, reserved First
Class and Business
Class seating, combined with
professional service.
Reservations
It is essential to purchase your Rail Pass prior to arrival into the USA. Reservations
for sectors on most trains are required and highly recommended before your arrival
in the USA, particularly in high season. An Issuance Fee may apply. Should you
choose to make your sector reservations during your travels, or amend your confirmed
bookings, please be aware that all travel is subject to availability and no refund
is applicable for unavailable services. Rail Pass holders who choose to make
reservations en route must collect tickets from the Amtrak office at the departing
station. Prior to boarding you must present your Rail Pass and Passport.

Rail Pass Rates
All
prices are in US dollars (US$). Each Amtrak® Rail
Pass is valid for either 5, 15 or 30 consecutive
days of travel (except California Pass),
with unlimited stopovers in the respective
region of travel.
Tickets issued in conjunction with an Amtrak
Rail Pass are valid for regular Coach
Class seating (however upgrades or sleeping accommodation can be
purchased at an additional charge)
onall Amtrak routes with the following
exceptions: The USA Rail Pass is valid for travel on all Amtrak
trains EXCEPT the Auto Train,
Acela Express, Metroliner and certain
Thruway motorcoach connections. Travel on the Canadian portion of
trains operated by Amtrak and
VIA Rail is permitted, however a supplement
will apply.
The California Rail Pass is valid
for travel on any 7 days during a consecutive
21-day period. The California Rail Pass is not valid on long-distance trains,
including
the Sunset Limited, the Southwest Chief,
the California Zephyr, and the Texas Eagle. On the Coast Starlight, travel
to or from points
outside California requires a separate
fare, calculated between Dunsmuir and the out-of-state origin or destination.
A valid passport issued outside the US is required
to purchase an Amtrak Rail Pass.
With the exception of the North American Rail Pass, child rates apply to children
aged between 2 and 15 years inclusive, and are 50% of adult fares. Child rates
apply for a maximum of two (2) children when accompanied by a full-fare paying
adult. Student or Senior fares are not
available.

our on-line connection with Amtrak’s own reservation system.
Amtrak Gateway
Fares
Amtrak offer Gateway
fares which are ideal if you only plan
to travel from one point to another in
the Northeast region. Available only
to international travellers, these discounted
fares offer great value if a pass is
more than what your itinerary requires.

On
Arrival at the Station
On
most medium and long-distance
trains, Amtrak have “checked
baggage” service.
Check-in for all trains
is no later than 30
minutes prior. This
may be extended if
you need to check baggage
or need to collect
your sector ticket.
At most major stations,
there is a free Red
Cap Service to assist
with baggage and handcarts
are usually available.
On
Board Services
Amtrak
trains are modern and
spacious with large
picture windows, air-conditioned
and have a rest room
in each car. The Lounge
Car is available for
the enjoyment of all
passengers however
seating is limited
and available strictly
on a first-come first-served
basis. Snacks, sweets,
sandwiches and beverages
may be enjoyed in the
Lounge or Cafe Car
or taken back to your
seat. Many long-distance
and overnight trains
offer both casual and
fine dining cars. There
is a Conductor on each
train and on long-distance
trains a Car Attendant
who will assist with
your comfort.
Coach
Class
Our
economical Coach Class features panoramic
views of the countryside from reclining seats
with fold down tray tables and overhead individual
reading lights. Many long-distance Coach
seats are extra-spacious and include leg
rests.

Business Class
Business
Class offers travellers the ability to actually work or not work
aboard the train, with reserved,
deluxe seating with extra leg room and
at seat outlets for laptops. As a Business
Class passenger you will have easy access to the Café Car
and Railfone onboard telephone service. Amenities offered
in Business Class vary by route.
First Class
Amtrak’s First Class is available on The Metroliner, Acela
Express and other Northeast Service trains. You will receive deluxe
seating in a reserved car, at-seat service featuring complimentary
meals and beverages, newspaper and special touches like mints and
hot towels. First Class passengers also enjoy use of Amtrak’s
Metropolitan Lounges located in select
cities.
Sleeping Car
The Viewliner Roomette offers comfortable reclining seats on either
side of a sweeping picture window. These seats combined convert to
the lower berth and the upper berth which folds down from above. This
room features a vanity and toilet including electrical outlets, reading
lights, heat/air control and a fold down table. The shower and changing
room is located at the end of the car. The Superliner Roomette are
located on both levels of the bi-level car. These rooms feature a
big picture window and 2 reclining seats which convert to the lower
berth and the upper berth which folds down from above. These rooms
feature electrical outlets, upper and lower reading lights, heat/air
controls and a fold down table. The shower and toilet facilities for
these rooms are located nearby. Amtrak also offers Bedrooms on both
the Viewliner and Superliner trains. Sleeping Car passengers enjoy
the use of Amtrak's Metropolitan Lounge in selected cities. All your
meals are complimentary with your Sleeping Car ticket, served to you
in the restaurant-style dining car or the privacy of your own compartment!
Accessible bedrooms are available for passengers with special mobility
requirements.
